Archibald Thorburn [Group of Hares and rabbit] 12.5 x 10 inches A charming series of four chromolithographs published in London in 1919. Archibald Thorburn (1860-1935) was born in Scotland and although he moved to England he frequently returned to the country of his birth where he found inspiration in the flora and fauna of the Highlands. He has become synonymous with beautifully drawn studies of British wildlife set against attractive landscapes; best know perhaps for his game birds. These hares (and the random rabbit!) are faithful reproductions of his work and demonstrate the fastidious attention to detail that he employed in his work. £325Group of 4 Unframed |
