W. Barnard after Lemuel Francis Abbott
To the Right Hon.ble Lady Nelson, This Portrait of the Right Hon.ble Admiral Lord Nelson, K.B. Is with permission humbly Dedicated by her Ladyship's most obedient, grateful Servant W. Barnard.
19.5 x 27 inches
A full-length mezzotint portrait of Admiral Horatio Nelson by Barnard after Abbott; published in London in 1799.
Although lacking its title this print is a very good impression with no defects to the image. It is a famous image of Nelson taken soon after the attack on Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Although he came out victorious it was during this battle that Nelson damaged his arm resulting in a partial amputation.
