A large-scale aquatint in full original colour; engraved by John Harris and published by Ackermann in London,1852, presented in a magnificent hand carved gilt frame.

This wonderfully evocative equestrian print conjures up all the excitement of a Victorian hunt in full cry. We see Harry Hieover mounted upon his favourite hunter, Tilter, hacking across the countryside with fellow huntsmen and a windmill in the background. With straight back and forward gait, it is immediately obvious that the rider is an accomplished horseman. This comes as no surprise when we learn that Harry Hieover was the pseudonym for Charles Brindley the renowned writer and author of many books on equestrian subjects. His most famous work, indispensable to any estate, was "The Pocket and The Stud, or Practical Hints for the Management of the Stable", published in 1848.
